Muirhead Outreach
Cairn Mhor has offered an outreach service since February 2003. This service became a subsidiary
organisation and gained its charitable status in November 2004. It is now under the new name of Muirhead Outreach Project. The project is working inconjunction....
We are an imaginative, innovative and experienced team of two social workers, sessional workers and volunteers supported by a social work manager with extensive experience in both field and residential work. An evening on-call service is provided to both young people and families.
We are supported by an educational psychologist, a psychiatrist, an educationalist and an art therapist.
Our success is evidenced by the high percentage of children who were in danger of becoming looked after remaining within their families. From 2004 – 2007 out of 92 children who received a service, only 6 were received into care.
