From Art Therapy to Play Therapy and Group Work

To Achieve Our Vision

We believe that every child/ young person has a right to reach their full potential.

Children respond best when they have helped to formulate plans for their future and we encourage them to be fully involved in this.

We can then tailor our support to help each child develop their full physical, emotional and academic potential. Our care and control policies do not involve physical restraint and are carefully designed to ensure we do not inflict physical or emotional harm on the child/ young people in our care.

We will maintain contact with child’s families to the maximum extent possible in line with statutory boundaries.

We will work towards reintegrating children/ young people into their own community wherever possible.

Although the expertise and experience of both our professionals and carers are key to our success, we need the active co-operation and involvement of the children and their families but we get this by being open and honest with each of them when planning their care programme.

We offer a high standard of physical and emotional care, working towards standards beyond those laid down by the Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care.

Our care package is individually tailored to each child/ young person choosing from a range of therapies according to the needs of each individual child/ young person, ranging from Art Therapies to Play Therapy and Group Work.

We have developed professional contacts with schools and psychological services with the focus on inclusion and reintegration of our children into mainstream education.

We are open, and welcome the views and recommendations of the Care Commission in order to ensure that the highest possible quality of service is offered to children, families and sponsors.
