Our Parent’s Group is open to all parents/carers and close relatives of children who are in care. We have found this provides invaluable support to the members and allows them to share experiences and seek support from each other and from external speakers to enable them to maintain and develop good relations with their children and young people. The Group meets regularly to chat and to hear from various experts in topical subjects such as law, the psychology behind why children act the way they do and how to best support them to keep an open relationship and lots of other relevant topics. We often meet for a meal and get together and this support has assisted parents to maintain and develop their relationships with their children and also to grow in confidence themselves and even to go on to education themselves and careers. It is open to all parents/carers and close relatives of children in care – and not just children living with Cairn Mhor. We provide transport to and from the meetings and a bite to eat.
Please do get in touch if you are interested in joining the group.
