Training Courses

Who We Are

Cairn Mhor Childcare Partnership and Muirhead Outreach Project have combined with RBA Training to offer a monthly training programme open to other agencies working with children and young people.

This training programme has been put together in response to a clearly defined need for training programmes aimed specifically at those working with children and young people.  Each workshop is very clearly focused on developing practical responses and theoretical understanding of some of the key areas of knowledge and expertise required in working in this field.  The aim is to develop multi disciplinary sessions and share experience and practice across children’s services in a variety of settings in the statutory, voluntary and independent sectors.

Course Titles for 2009 included;

An Introduction to ADHD and ASD; Working with Groups; Building Relationships; Supporting Young People in Education; Understanding Self Harm; Managing Challenging Behaviour.

All workshops were led by Peter Robinson, an experienced practitioner and trainer with over 25 years experience in the statutory and health care sectors with particular expertise in mental health and working with children and young people.  He is a qualified mental health officer and is presently working with young people as a mental health link worker.  Other trainer/practitioners will be employed for specific workshops.

2010 programme to be announced.
